New York and New Jersey BP Station Owners Give High School Students

This June, BP station owners of New York and New Jersey presented a collective grant donation of $200,000 to the long-running BP Community Scholarship Program, which will provide 100 promising students with college scholarships in 2011. - Tape over cracks in your taillight or turn-signal covers using the red or orange tape that you can find at automotive stores. It's a short-term fix, but it can prevent water from entering your light compartment and causing serious damage.
- Run your car's air-conditioning system a few times in the winter. This step prevents moving parts in the compressor from seizing, and circulating the refrigerant helps keep the seals from hardening.
- Turn off the car when it's safe to do so. It's better to turn off the engine and restart a few minutes later than to burn fuel while idling.
