You've worked hard and the day has finally arrived for that long-awaited summer trip. But the last thing you need is a blowout or an overheated engine putting the kibosh on your plans. Short or long distance driving in hot weather can be tough on your vehicle. We've got a few tips.
Make sure your vehicle is “hydrated.” Have your mechanic check important fluids, such as oil, coolant, transmission, brake, steering, and even windshield wiper fluid.
Check that your tires are properly inflated for the season.
Seek out shaded areas when parking during the day.
Be ready to keep your cool when the unforeseen happens: pack an emergency road kit and have a road atlas on hand!
